Maharashtra government has decided to reduce the height of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s statue in Indu Mill as the construction of the same is at a slow pace. Reacting to this, the Republican Sena (RS) has expressed its anger.

Talking about the agitation, Republican Sena chief Anandraj Ambedkar told Mumbai Live that they will protest at Indu Mill on December 6 regarding the same against the state government.

Ambedkar Memorial is being constructed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). Under this project, earlier, the height of the statue was supposed to be 350 feet. However, the state government has reduced the height to 261 feet and the platform of the same will be 99 feet.

Maharashtra government has cheated the followers of Ambedkar by deciding to reduce the height of his statue. Since the last two months, the Republic Sena has been appealing to the state government and MMRDA to withdraw their decision but nothing has been done. Therefore, the RS has decided to protest against the government.

Jadhav has demanded that the Ambedkar’s statue should be the world’s largest and the height of the statue should be 395 feet because India’s constitution has 395 sections.
