Film actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife at his home. He was seriously injured and underwent treatment in Mumbai. Earlier, former MLA Baba Siddique was shot dead while film actor Salman Khan's house was shot at. Due to all these incidents, there has been a law and order situation in Maharashtra for the last three years, said Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole.
“The murderous attack on famous Padma Shri awardee Saif Ali Khan has left the law and order system of Maharashtra hanging in the balance. Who is safe in Mumbai if such incidents are happening in the bustling Bandra area of Mumbai? Given the increasing crime incidents in Mumbai, Pune, Beed, Parbhani, Nagpur, is there a Home Minister in the state?”, such a question is being raised by Patole.
Gangsters are flourishing in the BJP coalition government and the attack on Saif Ali Khan is a challenge given by the gangsters to the law and order system of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress President Nana Patole has criticised this as a failure of the government through a press release.
Taking note of the BJP government on the issue of law and order in the state, Congress state president Nana Patole said that the morale of criminals has increased in the BJP government and their beloved Director General of Police along with Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis are very inactive.
“Mumbai has two police commissioners yet there is neither law and order in the state nor in Mumbai. Organised crime in Beed, death in police custody in Parbhani, shooting death of former minister Baba Siddique in Bandra, shooting at actor Salman Khan's house are serious incidents. Fadnavis has failed to hold the post of Home Minister. No one is safe in the state, the leaders of the ruling party, the general public”, said Patole.
The Chief Minister should show the courage to take some drastic action instead of making statements that the criminals will not be spared and will be severely punished. It seems that Fadnavis is not serious when crime is increasing in the state. Patole also said that it is the misfortune of Maharashtra to have such a passive and weak Home Minister.
