While model code of conduct is in effect after State Election Commission (SEC) announced poll dates in Maharashtra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday lashed out on Congress and blamed India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for the creation of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Shah said that Kashmir issue should have been handled by then Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel instead of Nehru.

PoK wouldn’t have existed if Nehru had not declared untimely ceasefire with Pakistan. Sardar Patel should have handled the Kashmir issue, instead of Nehru,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah said during his address in an election rally in Mumbai.

Amit Shah also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for removing the Article 370 (special status to Jammu and Kashmir) while claiming that not a single bullet has been fired in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370.

Attacking the opposition leaders including Congress’ Rahul Gandhi and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, Shah asked them to tell people about their stand on the abrogation of Article 370.
