Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday questioned how the BJP sought support in both the 2014 Lok Sabha and 2019 elections while I was not the Shiv Sena party chief or president. He declared that he has faith in the Supreme Court, but now he is starting a battle in the people's court to preserve the existence of the court and democracy.

Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narvekar has rejected the petitions of Thackeray and Shinde factions in the MLA disqualification case. According to the Shiv Sena constitution of 1999, only the Shiv Sena chief and the national executive have powers and not the party chief or president, he has ruled that the real Shiv Sena belongs to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Against this, Thackeray took an aggressive stand and organised a press conference at the National Sports Complex in Worli.

The BJP National President J.P. Nadda had made a statement that in the future only BJP will exist and other parties will disappear. Thackeray alleged that its implementation is very dangerous and is murdering democracy. He also alleged that the system of Assembly Speaker, Election Commission, Enforcement Directorate (ED) is working as a police force. Now the last hope is from the Supreme Court and the decision will come soon.

A petition has also been submitted for that. But the Shinde group has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court as to why the MLAs from our group were not disqualified. Thackeray alleged that this was an attempt to waste time.

Thackeray also clarified that if the Shinde group is not satisfied with the President's decision, they should bring a no-confidence motion in the Legislative Assembly and we will support it. Thackeray said that if Shinde is treated as a householder, then our own whip will work in the legislature by questioning him about his five-star farm and two helipads.

In this press conference Shiv Sena MLA Advocate Asim Sarode and Adv. Rohit Sharma representing Anil Parab and Thackeray group before the court and the president raised several legal issues. Shiv Sena's national executive and representative assembly and quinquennium elections were held on January 23, 2013 and 18 Parab presented the evidence of the audio tapes of these meetings, the constitutional amendment resolutions passed therein and the copy submitted to the Central Election Commission and its acknowledgment.

President Narvekar was formerly in the Shiv Sena and was present at the representative meeting held on 23 January 2013, it was shown in the audio footage. In this meeting, Thackeray was given all the powers of Shiv Sena chief as party leader or president. Parab said how Narvekar decided that Thackeray had no authority.

If the Shiv Sena has not held internal party elections since 1999, then why has the Election Commission not issued a show cause notice even once in the last 25 years, he asked. Advocate Sarode accused Narvekar of being a 'constitutional traitor' and referred to the governor as a 'fadtoos' while giving information about the constitution and legal provisions.
