The special session of the Parliament suddenly called by the Modi government and the use of the word Bharat instead of India by the government in the G20 conference being held in the capital Delhi are being heavily discussed. The opposition is criticising that the government is trying to change the name of the country because of the India Alliance. Similarly, NCP President Sharad Pawar while commenting on the Bharat-India dispute asked Prime Minister Modi with a smile. He was speaking to activists in Mumbai on Sunday (September 10).

Sharad Pawar said, "In the first sentence of the Constitution, there is clarity about Bharat or India. If we ask Modi, who is demanding Bharat instead of India, how many schemes he has made in the name of India. He came up with many schemes called India. In the morning, when I was coming home, there was a directional board in front of Air India. Gateway of India was written there. Now what to call Gateway of India?”

Indo-India issue to divert attention from important issues
“Important issues are being diverted for no reason and non-essentials are being given importance. This is the formula of the present rulers. That's why this issue of Bharat India has been raised," said Sharad Pawar.

Earlier G20 meetings were held in the country but not in the same atmosphere as today
Speaking at the G20 conference, Sharad Pawar said, "A big conference of 20 countries is going on in the country. Such conferences have been held twice in the country before. It happened once during Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's tenure and once more. Now the G20 conference is being held for the third time in the country. People from all over the world came to the first two conferences, but then the environment was not created like it is today."

Early councils had no silver and gold plates
"I have never read that the two previous councils had silver platters, gold platters, what else. I agree that it is our duty to honour the heads of various countries of the world who come to this place. It is important for this country. However, on this occasion, instead of the fundamental issues, this conference is being used to promote the greatness of certain people. How appropriate this is will be discussed today or tomorrow. Also, people will form their opinions about it," Sharad Pawar also mentioned.
