Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Monday that to honour the sacrifice, patriotism and overall dedication of Veer Damodar Savarkar and to bring his work to the people, Shiv Sena-BJP will take out a Savarkar Gaurav Yatra across the state. Also, Uddhav Thackeray should show the courage to show his love for Savarkar not through speech but through action. They also challenged Thackeray that if Savarkar's Hinduism is acceptable, then he should show some courage and should slap Rahul Gandhi.
Uddhav Thackeray warned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a public meeting in Malegaon on Sunday that freedom fighter Savarkar is our god and will not tolerate his insult. After that, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a press conference and criticized Thackeray. Thackeray gave a hollow assurance to Rahul Gandhi that he will not tolerate the insult of freedom fighter Savarkar. In fact, twice during the budget session of the State Legislature and at the end of it, Gandhi took the position of humiliating Savarkar. But at that time Thackeray and his MLAs did not utter a word in the House.
Not only this, even when Gandhi was suspended as per the law, Thackeray and his MLAs wore black armbands and participated in the agitation along with the ruling MLAs, did not see Savarkar's insult. Eknath Shinde criticized that this was the highest point of surrender of Thackeray and his MLAs. After Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar insulted Savarkar, Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray had shown the courage to slap the replica of Aiyar. He asked whether Uddhav Thackeray would show the same courage towards Rahul Gandhi.

Contribution in many fields
Apart from the freedom movement, Savarkar also contributed immensely in many fields. He has contributed in many areas such as eradication of caste, elimination of superstitions, glorification of Marathi language, task of giving many words to Marathi language. Every countryman is indebted to his immeasurable contribution. The country and especially Maharashtra will never forget his contribution. Therefore, Shinde and Fadnavis said that 'Veer Savarkar Gaurav Yatra' will be taken out in all assembly constituencies of the state against Rahul Gandhi's insult to Savarkar, who is the god of Maharashtra and the country, and Rahul Gandhi will be protested everywhere.
