The investigation report of the CAG on the affairs of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) came out the other day. In this, the finger has been placed on the cleaning work of Mithi river in Mumbai. The cleaning work of Mithi river is being given to a single company, the cleaning work of Mithi river has not been done despite giving the contract to the same company continuously. Detailed information about this has been revealed in the CAG report. When MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande was asked for his reaction in this regard, he said that MNS has consistently raised these issues. Cleanliness of Mithi river is the biggest mess.

Deshpande said that the contract for cleaning the river is a big mess. We released a video about this. We also demanded that CCTV cameras should be installed where the cleaning work is being done. They are not planted yet. Because an active Veerappan gang is behind it. This is Veerappan Gang's performance. The Veerappan Gang in Mumbai has robbed the Municipal Corporation more than the real Veerappan Gang has not robbed in the jungle. Deshpande has been attacking the Shiv Sena since the civic body has been with the latter for many years. Currently, Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal is looking after the affairs of the BMC.

"Is the audit department sleeping?"

Deshpande said that we have been raising the issues for the last 5 years. That is what CAG has laid down. Veerappan gang has looted the municipality. CAG has done the work of sealing what we were talking about. The BMC has its own audit department. It has 700 employees. Despite this, was the audit department of the municipal corporation sleeping? Why did they not see the irregularity in it? These issues need to be followed up and action should be taken against the people concerned.
