Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday, June 5, said that the Shiv Sena and the BJP under his leadership will fight all upcoming elections together, including elections to administrative bodies.

This decision came after Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Sunday night, June 4.

Sharing a photo of the meeting, the Chief Minister tweeted, "During the meeting it was decided that Shiv Sena and BJP will contest all future elections (Lok Sabha, Assembly and Municipal Corporation) together."

Eknath Shinde said that issues of agriculture and cooperation were discussed during Shah's meeting. He tweeted, "We have always received guidance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for various projects. We met Shah to discuss the issues in the cooperative sector."

Moreover, calling both of them together to Delhi is believed to have given strength to the cabinet expansion talks.

Eknath Shinde flew from Pune and Devendra Fadnavis flew to Delhi from Nagpur.

Cabinet expansion

The cabinet expansion of state government will take place soon and the timeline will be decided by CM Shinde. It will be completed before June 19. It is also reported that each of the Shinde group will be given a ministerial post.

Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is being given a place in the Union Cabinet and there is a discussion that old face of BJP will be removed from Maharashtra and a new face will be given a chance. The discussion of including Devendra Fadnavis in the Union Cabinet has been going on for many days.

It has been almost a year since the formation of Shinde-Fadnavis. Despite this, the government's second cabinet has not been expanded. Due to this, there is displeasure between Shinde camp and BJP MLAs.
