In its mouthpiece, Shiv Sena hit out against Modi government saying that there is a sham and fraud across the nation while doubting the Supreme Court’s decision on Rafale deal case. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray asked if this issue has overpowered the judiciary system.

Those who were raising their voice against the Rafale deal issue have been forced to keep quiet. On the Rafale deal issue, have ‘Thugs of Hindustan’ taken over ‘Satyamev Jayate’?” asked the Shiv Sena in an editorial published at Saamana.

Referring to Congress’ Bofors case, Thackeray said that misdeeds in Rafale deal are coming out, gradually. In Bofors case, the scam was revealed slowly and the same will happen in the Rafale deal case. “36 Rafale jets for the price of 126? What is the price of the jets? Why was Reliance Defence made an offset partner while HAL being a government authorised company?” Thackeray wrote in Saamana.

The editorial further stated that the apex court has given its opinion on the matter and not the results, based on the information provided before the court. However, Thackeray said that the information was “half-truth” and the government later had asked the SC to rectify the same. Terming it as “shocking”, Thackeray said that due to the wrong information provided by Modi government, the Supreme Court has also become a laughing matter.

Earlier, in its verdict, Supreme Court mentioned that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report on Rafale jet deals has been submitted to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). After huge chaos by the opposition, Modi government said that it was a “typo” explaining that it is yet to submit the report.

Thackeray wrote that the Supreme Court expressed that there is no need to investigate and there is nothing wrong in this matter. The apex court expressed their opinion on the false documents. “The question is that if the government fool the Supreme Court or did the apex court fooled the people?”
