Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray criticised that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have to agree that the BJP cannot get votes in Maharashtra without mentioning the name of Shiv Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray. As BJP lacks idols to look up to, they are making a mean and baseless claim that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Balasaheb Thackeray belong to them.

“If BJP has courage then they should seek votes in the name of Modi and I will enter the elections in the name of my father Balasaheb, let us see which party Maharashtra backs”, said Thackeray.

He was speaking at a gathering organised at Shanmukhananda Hall in Matunga on the occasion of Shiv Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray's 97th birth anniversary.

“BJP has no contribution in the freedom struggle nor they participated in Samyukta Maharashtra movement or any struggle. Now the ruling party is installing the oil painting of Balasaheb in the Legislative Council. The action is good, but the motive behind it is not. I am not worried about the post of party chief but will remain in this position as long as the workers believe in me.”

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde recently said that NCP President Sharad Pawar is a very sweet person and he always takes his advice over the phone. Referring to it, Thackeray said, Shinde had said that the government of Mahavikas Aghadi was overthrown because it left Hinduism and adapted Sharad Pawar's ideologies.

“So what was I doing? They say they follow Modi but use Balasaheb’s name. Which of their words should be considered true? You stole our father, remember your one father,” Thackeray criticised.
