Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra announces cabinet portfolios for six ministers

Sena is set to get Home Ministry and has retained Urvan development portfolio while NCP has got Finance and Housing Ministry. Congress takes over the Revenue portfolio.

Nearly a fortnight after Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government on Thursday announced its cabinet portfolios. 

The Congress, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) reached an understanding of portfolio distribution. Sena is set to get Home Ministry and has retained Urvan development portfolio while NCP has got Finance and Housing Ministry. Congress takes over the Revenue portfolio. 

Shiv Sena will also keep the Industry and Environment portfolio with itself. Along with Finance and Housing, NCP has got Rural Development, Water Resources, Hcooperatives, Food and Civil Supplies. 

Apart from Revenue, Congress has been given Higher and Technical Education, Revenue, School and Medical Education and Public Works Department (PWD). 

In Shiv Sena, Eknath Shinde and Subhash Desai have been given ministerial portfolios while Jayant Patil and Chhagan Bhujbal have been made ministers from NCP. 

In Congress, Balasaheb Thorat and Nitin Raut have been given ministerial portfolios.
