Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday condemned the murder of two priests in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr and appealed that the incident should not be communalised the way it was done over the Palghar mob lynching in Maharashtra.

Labelling the Bulandshahr incident as “inhuman”, Raut informed that two sadhus have been murdered inside a temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr and appealed all to not communalise and politicise the issue like Palghar incident.

“It is an appeal to all to not politicise the issue like Palghar incident. The country is battling with the coronavirus. Stay calm. Yogi Adityanath will take strict action against the accused,” Sanjay Raut tweeted in Marathi.

The Shiv Sena leader also informed that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called up Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and expressed concern over the killing of two sadhus in Bulandshahr.

“While speaking to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uddhav Thackeray expressed his concern over the killings of two saints and said that we should focus on punishing the accused responsible for some inhumane act, instead of playing politics,” Sanjay Raut shared this on his official twitter handle.

In a shocking incident, the dead bodies of two sadhus were found inside a temple at Pagona village of Bulandshahr on Tuesday. The deceased identified as Jagandas (55) and Sevadas (35) were killed on Monday night, allegedly by a man they had berated and accused of theft. The police informed that a man named Raju has been arrested and charged with murder.

The UP police have denied a communal angle to the Bulandshahr incident. Yogi Adityanath has also asked for a report on the killings of two sadhus.

Earlier, after the videos of an angry mob in Maharashtra’s Palghar ‘brutally’ beating up three people including two sadhus and their driver went viral, it sparked a huge political controversy with various BJP leaders suggesting that the killings were intentional while on social media various handles tried to pain the Palghar mob lynching with a communal colour.

However, Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government denied any communal angle in the incident. The state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh even released the list of the accused and clarified that no accused is a Muslim in connection with the Palghar mob lynching.
