As Gupteshwar Pandey on Wednesday took early retirement from his post as the DGP of Bihar, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut accused him of running a political agenda against Maharashtra in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Raut said that people will not believe the party which makes him a candidate in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. The reason behind Pandey’s statements on the SSR death case is clear now, the Shiv Sena MP added.

“People will not believe those who will give him (Former Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey) a ticket (in the upcoming polls). Pandey was working with an agenda against Maharashtra and the reason is clear now,” Raut said.

Raut, who is in Delhi for the ongoing monsoon session, alleged that there was a “well-planned” conspiracy to discredit Mumbai and Maharashtra.

“Those who are speaking against Maharashtra are preparing their political platform. Why should Maharashtra be treated like a doormat?” Raut asked while saying that Pandey was being rewarded for running a political agenda.

Meanwhile, Gupteshwar Pandey on Wednesday took voluntary retirement as Bihar DGP and has denied claims of contesting elections or joining any political party. He said that he has not decided to join any political party as of now.

“A man in the uniform should be neutral. He has a history of dropping the uniform and trying to enter politics. Now, he is doing it again. Bihar DGP was running a political agenda during the SSR death case and is now getting a reward for it,” Raut said.

Pandey, a 1987 batch IPS officer from Bihar, had taken voluntary retirement from services in 2009 as well to contest the Lok Sabha elections. There are strong speculations that the former DGP will contest the upcoming Bihar assembly polls.
