Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut underwent angioplasty at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Monday evening. He was admitted after he complained of chest pain. Sanjay Raut's brother Sunil Raut said that his brother underwent angiography where two blocks in the heart were detected. He is now said to be stable. 

Shiv Sena leader had also complained of stress and high blood pressure.

This comes amid the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra. Raut is admitted in the 1102 room number of the Lilavati hospital and will be treated by Dr. Ajit Menon. According to the media reports, Raut will undergo angiography as well and will remain admitted in the hospital for at least two days. 

Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut informed that Sanjay Raut is fine and there is no reason to panic. He has been admitted for the regular check-up and will be discharged tomorrow, added Raut. Sunil Raut is the brother of Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut. It is learned that Raut was taken to Lilavati Hospital after his meeting with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar concluded. In the meeting, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was also present.

With Raut admitted in the hospital, the responsibility to form the government in Maharashtra will be given to Shiv Sena leaders including Rahul Narvekar, Anil Parab and Anil Desai. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has invited Shiv Sena to stake claim to form the government. Sena will have to prove its majority till 7:30 PM on Monday.
