Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's statement has caused quite a stir in the city of Mumbai, whereby actors, political leaders, personalities and the general public have raised their voice, by strongly opposing Kangana's statement. Recently, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has addressed this issue by giving a stern reply to Kangana. Following this, several women from Shiv Sena have come forward to show their disappointment, with an aggressive move.

In a recently staged activity, women from Shiv Sena tore down Kangana's poster in Thane and hit the same with shoes. The agitation was against Kangana Ranaut's tweet about Mumbai, and following this activity, they have joined a large group of Shiv Sainiks, who have firmly stated that Kangana would not be allowed to set foot in Mumbai.

This event was held near Anand Dighe's Shakti Sthal in Thane, where the women Shiv Sainiks also chanted slogans against Kangana. by saying that the statement made by the actress was reprehensible. Former mayor Meenakshi Shinde further confirmed that if she continued to make such statements, they will boycott all her films and also ask the public to do so. Furthermore, the women also said that if she arrives in Mumbai on September 9, they will welcome her in 'Shiv Sena style' 

Challenging the leaders and people in Mumbai, Kangana took to Twitter and said, "I see many people are threatening me to not come back to Mumbai so I have now decided to travel to Mumbai this coming week on 9th September, I will post the time when I land at the Mumbai airport, kisi ke baap mein himmat hai toh rok le."

Commenting on the protest staged by the women from Shiv Sena, she wrote, "After Sushant and Sadhus murder now beating my posters with chappals for my opinions on administration, it seems Mumbai is addicted to blood."

Former CM Devendra Fadnavis' wife, Amrita Fadnavis shared her opinion supporting Kangana and said, "We may not agree with what someone has to say, but we must defend the right to express in democracy! Freedom of speech, freedom of belief, freedom of movement, freedom of press-cannot b suppressed! We can have counter-arguments but beating posters of critics with chappals is a new low."
