During his visit to Ayodhya, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday visited Laxman Qila and later in the evening participated in the rituals near Sarayu River.

While addressing the media, Thackeray lashed out against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that the central government should enact a law or an ordinance. Shiv Sena will back anything in favour of constructing Ram Mandir.

The Shiv Sena chief said that BJP had highlighted the Ram Mandir issue while campaigning for the general assembly elections 2014. However, after four and a half years of being in power, the BJP has failed to fulfil its promise.

In the political circle, the opposition has attacked Thackeray for politicising the Ram Mandir issue. However, on Saturday, the Shiv Sena chief said that he is not here to do politics on the issue but to demand a date from BJP for the construction of the mandir. “We are tired of waiting, we want the BJP government to declare a date for the construction of Ram Mandir.”

Amid Uddhav Thackeray’s ritual ceremony along with his family at Ayodhya, several Shiv Sena leaders and activists across Mumbai and Maharashtra indulged in the same.

In Mumbai, a Maha Aarti was organised at Siddhivinayak Mandir in Dadar where the city’s Dabbawalas also participated. Thackeray will visit the Ram Janmabhoomi, the disputed land, on November 25 and will return to Mumbai in the afternoon tomorrow.
