Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission on Thursday finally submitted its report on the socio-economic status of the Maratha community to State chief Secretary DK Jain. The chief secretary assured necessary action after the report was analysed. Meanwhile, the Maratha community is being provided information regarding the report.
The commission studied the socio-economic problems of almost 45,000 Maratha families to provide them with reservation. This report was to be submitted by November 15 to the state government.

The report will be sent to the Chief Minister office and discussions will be held regarding amending the reservation policy and incorporating the share for Maratha community. After that, the report will be presented before the cabinet and in the winter session of Maharashtra Assembly.
