Mumbai - Maharashtra Government appointed IAS Sumeet Mallick as the new chief secretary of the state on Tuesday. An officer from the 1982 batch, Mallick was working as the additional chief secretary and chief protocol officer. Mallick will get a tenure of more than a year and will retire in April 2018. Incumbent Secretary Kshatriya was to retire on 31 January but was given a month's extension owing to municipal elections.
