Sudhir Mungantiwar said, “We have signed an agreement with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to bring the weapon back to Maharashtra. The date of bringing the weapon to India with the permission of the British government is not fixed yet. Once the date is fixed, we all will go back to London if necessary. We had extensive discussions with the Victoria and Albert Museum. A team of the Culture Department of Maharashtra will go to London to discuss among other things the historical heritage of Maharashtra. There will be a discussion in this regard between the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of Britain in the future. Efforts will be made on behalf of our Government to bring back our rightful items in their possession to Maharashtra, and liaison with the British Museum will be maintained for this purpose.”
