The day-long Maha-Adhiveshan of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was convened on Thursday morning at Goregaon's NESCO ground. As this happened, MNS chief Raj Thackeray launched the new party flag. 

Thackeray dumped its party flag – a mix of saffron, green and blue along with train engine – changing the same to only saffron, in a major shift. With the introduction of the new saffron flag, MNS has also appropriated Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

At the stage, the portrait of VD Savarkar was seen with the photographs of B.R. Ambedkar, Savitribai Phule and Probhadhankar Thackeray. The flag signifies the major shift in MNS’ policy which will be announced later today. Saffron in colour, the flag has ‘Raj Mudra’ (stamp) used during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s rule. 

In the Maha Adhiveshan, Thackeray has been accompanied by his family member including his wife Sharmila Thackeray and son Amit Thackeray. 

MNS chief Raj Thackeray will address the party workers and further unveil his party’s agenda in the evening. Thackeray has called the first conclave after 15 years of his party’s formation.
