Applications for all ten seats have been filed by the University Development Forum sponsored by the Yuva Sena (Thackeray group) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in the General Assembly elections of the University of Mumbai's registered graduate group. Chhatra Bharati Vidyarthi Sangathan has fielded candidates for five out of ten seats. Therefore, this year's general assembly election, which is considered important in the university circles, will be fought between the Thackeray group's Yuva Sena and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad-sponsored University Development Manch.


The much-awaited AGM election of the registered graduate group of Mumbai University is taking place after Ganeshotsav. The Thackeray group's Yuva Sena had won ten out of ten seats in the last five-year senate elections. Therefore, this year too the Thackeray group's Yuva Sena has decided to contest all the ten seats. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad-sponsored University Development Manch is also all set to challenge the Thackeray group's Yuva Sena by contesting all ten seats.

Thackeray group's Yuva Sena is contesting this election under the leadership of Aaditya Thackeray. Chhatra Bharati Student Union has entered the senate arena by fielding candidates on five out of ten seats. We will contest ten out of ten seats in the general assembly elections of the registered graduate group of Mumbai University. Pradeep Sawant, former member of the Yuva Sena of the Thackeray group, said that under the leadership of Shiv Sena leader and Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray, we will achieve great success again.


Harshad Bhide, convenor of the ABIP-sponsored Vidyapeeth Development Manch, expressed his opinion that the candidates of the Vidyapeeth Development Manch will remain committed to work for the benefit of the students in the university by stopping political interference in the university. Also, state president of Chhatra Bharati Vidyarthi Sangathan Rohit Dhale said that we will contest the general assembly elections of Mumbai University with full strength. We are contesting five seats. Let us take those who come along for the bright future of the university. We will form a panel for the election after discussions with the persons who have personally filed nominations for the interest of the university.


Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena had prepared to contest the elections under the leadership of Amit Thackeray. Therefore, apart from state politics, the Thackeray brothers were going to stand face to face in the senate election of Mumbai University. However, information was received from reliable sources that not a single candidate has officially filled the application form from Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena. The Shinde group's Yuva Sena has also not fielded a single candidate in the senate elections. 


Application filed by MNS State Secretary

Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena has not filed any application for a single seat for the General Assembly elections of the registered graduate group. However, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's state secretary and former senate member Sudhakar Tamboli has filed the application personally. Sudhakar Tamboli explained that I am the state secretary of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and have filed my nomination as an office bearer and worker of the party.


Election on September 22, results on September 25

The General Assembly Election of the Registered Graduate Group of Mumbai University will be held on September 22 from 9 AM to 5 PM for a total of 10 seats. Then on September 25 at 9 am in the Sir Kawasji Jehangir Convocation Hall in the Fort complex, the results will be declared. Nominations for this election had to be filed by 5 pm on Monday, August 12. The Mumbai University administration explained that 52 people have filled the application form till the last day of filing the candidature application. Now on August 16 at 11 am, the scrutiny of candidatures will be held in the Feroz Shah Mehta Auditorium (Management Council Hall) in Fort Complex of the University.
