Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Avinash Jadhav has been released from the judicial custody. Jadhav, Thane MNS chief, was released from the custody on a bail bond of ₹15,000 on Friday.

Earlier, Thane Civil Court had rejected Jadhav's bail plea on Monday. However, Thane Sessions court granted him bail after seven days of being in the judicial custody. He was arrested Kapurbawadi police in Thane for protesting against the Virar-Vasai Municipal Commissioner.

Thane police had sought more time from the court as Jadhav's lawyers argued for bail. The arguments of both the parties were heard by Judge PP Jadhav and the bail was granted. Jadhav will have to report to the police station on Monday.

Jadhav has been served an externment show-cause notice by the Palghar Police Department restricting him from the limits of five districts including Mumbai, Thane, Thane Rural, Navi Mumbai and Raigad districts for a period of two years.

This came after he protested against the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) at the entrance of VVMC Commissioner Gangadharan D cabin while demanding improvement in the facilities at the COVID centres in Vasai and Virar areas.

The MNS leader also protested over the non-payment of nurses working at Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) COVID hospital.

On Friday, Renukar Bagde - the sub-divisional police officer of Virar - issues the notice which mentions nearly 20 crimes registered against Jadhav at various police stations in Thane Nagar, Virar-Vasai, Naupada and Kapurbawadi.
