Union Home Minister Amit Shah stayed in Manipur for four days. Still the situation is not under control. If the current leadership in Manipur is ineffectual, BJP should take the right decision. Even after the Shtriya Swayamsevak Sangh expressed concern over the situation in Manipur, it was thought that concrete action would be taken by the Prime Minister. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had tried hard to mainstream the North Eastern states; But at present the situation in Manipur is being ignored and there is fear that Vajpayee's efforts will go in vain.

Demonstrations in Manipur for 'NRC' implementation

Imphal: People staged protests at various places in Manipur's Imphal valley on Saturday demanding implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) and a peaceful resolution to the crisis in the state. Many women staged a dharna at Khurai in Imphal East district to oppose the efforts to impose President's rule in the state.
