Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday took a dig at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that his party would neither get defeated not be afraid.

The Shiv Sena spokesperson tweeted a verse in Hindi which read: “Haar ho jaati hai jab maan liya jata hai, jeet tab hoti hai jab thaan liya jata hai (defeat is when you accept, victory happens when you are determined)”.

Raut, who got discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Wednesday after he underwent an angioplasty, tweeted this with a caption saying: “Ab haarna aur darna mana hai...(Now, being afraid and getting defeated is not allowed)”.

Raut’s remarks come after Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that Prime Minister and he had already announced in the public that Devendra Fadnavis will the Chief Minister if their alliance (BJP and Shiv Sena) wins.

While talking to the media on Thursday, Shiv Sena firebrand leader Sanjay Raut said that his party his prepared to fight and die but will not tolerate threats.

I have heard Prime Minister Narendra Modi say that Devendra Fadnavis will be the next Chief Minister in Maharashtra. However, even we had repeatedly said that a Shiv Sena CM will take oath. Amit Shah didn't raised any objection then,” said Raut taking a dig at the BJP.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has maintained that the BJP had finalised 50-50 power-sharing deal before the Lok Sabha elections this year. Shah on Wednesday said that it would be inappropriate to disclose the talks that were held "behind closed doors" with Shiv Sena over government formation.

However, in his first remarks on the issue, Shah refuted the claims made by Thackeray and Shiv Sena. Even Devendra Fadnavis had also said that the CM post was not promised to Sena. This resulted in Sena pulling out of the alliance in Maharashtra.

Why did you not inform the Prime Minister of the power-sharing deal which was finalised behind closed doors? Why did you remain silent till the election results? Amit Shah should hav e breifed the PM with our latest talks,” Raut said.

Raut further said that Shiv Sena could have easily countered Modi’s speech. However, they didn’t do so out of respect for the Prime Minister, added the Shiv Sena leader.
