Shiv Sena's Dussehra rally will not happen online, says Sanjay Raut

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections will be held in February 2022, which is less than six months away, and hence this year, Shiv Sena is now planning to hold its annual  Dussehra rally on a larger scale.

According to reports, they are planning to hold a physical  Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in Dadar. They are thinking about options that how the rally can be held with a limited number of people, following all the COVID-19 protocols.

Reportedly, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has said that the rally will not happen online like last year. Dussehra falls on Friday, October 15 this year, and the party is likely to conduct its rally on Dussehra day. The rally will not be taking place online and will be held properly, said Raut.

He further said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is of the same view, and the party is discussing how to conduct the rally while following all the COVID-19 norms. The rally would be organized based on Thackeray's decision, he added.

A few of the senior party functionaries have said that the party intends to hold a rally on a bigger scale this year since the COVID-19 situation is under control.

They have two options with them, either they organize the party in a bigger auditorium or hold it at Shivaji Park. The state is unlocking restrictions in a phase-wise manner. Thackeray, on Sept. 25, said that all the cinema halls across the state can reopen from October 22, 2021.
