State Tourism Minister, Aaditya Thackeray inspected the city centre mall site in Mumbai Cenrail on Friday night. For those unaware. a massive fire broke out at the City Center Mall located in Mumbai Central, at around 9 pm on Thursday, October 22. It has taken the rescue team over two days to get things back in control.
Besides this, the firefighters also rescued more than 400 people who were trapped in the mall and had their lives at risk.
A total of five people - four firemen and one deputy fire officer - have been injured in the incident. The fire was confined to the four-storey mall and is said to have broken at an electronics shops. Besides this, the mall also has several shops which sell inflammable products like batter, printers, etc., which are adding to the troubles of dousing the fire. As many as 88 fire engines and hundreds of rescue team members are controlling the fire.
Thackeray in his visit lauded the efforts of the brave firefighters who had been working on getting this fire in control. He even took to his Twitter to mention that he had been taking regular updates and he was grateful that this incident has not resulted in any loss of life.

Earlier in the day, Mumbai City Guardian Minister Aslam Sheikh, inspected the City Center Mall at Mumbai Central. He has ordered a probe into the matter and asked the team to submit a report of what was the cause of the fire.
When the fire broke out it was marked as Level 1 but was quickly escalated to a level V. Apart from the rescue operations in the mall, , more than 3000 residents living nearby have been evacuated keeping the risk in mind.
