The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Assembly Ajit Pawar on Monday, July 25, accused Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis of running a two-person government. Pawar also criticised the stalling of decisions taken by previous governments.

He further stated that with the floods in Maharashtra the state needed efforts for rehabilitation and help and a two cabinet ministry consisting of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was not helping matters.

"If the Eknath Shinde government has a majority, then why is the cabinet expansion taking so long? Why haven't you called for an assembly session? Who is stopping you from doing this? Does a two-man government look good? It does not seem appropriate for the democracy. Why the cabinet expansion has not happened is known only to Fadnavis and Shinde, said Ajit Pawar.

He also exclaimed that the need of the hour was to manage the sentiments of farmers affected by floods and rains with monetary grants and material to them. But there are no foster ministers.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde while speaking to reporters in Delhi said that the cabinet expansion was not being 'delayed' and that it would happen soon.
