Former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday, July 8, demanded mid-term elections in the state.

This statement came during his first live interaction with the media after he resigned on June 29.

In his speech, Thackeray also stated that nobody will be able to take away the symbol of the bow and the arrow of the Shiv Sena.

As the Uddhav camp of the party is fighting the Shinde camp legally, Thackeray said he has confidence in the Judiciary.

He also thanked the party leaders who have shown confidence in him. “This is not the first time that the party faced such a rebellion. MLAs come and go but the party's existence does not end,” he further mentioned.

Additionally, Supreme Court's (SC) July 11 verdict will decide the future of Indian democracy and not just that of Shiv Sena Uddhav was quoted as saying.
