Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alleging that the ruling leadership is focusing on election campaigning outside the state while neglecting key issues in Mumbai.

Speaking to party workers, Thackeray questioned the emphasis on political activity related to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election 2026, saying that urgent concerns such as rising crime and women’s safety in Mumbai require immediate attention.

He accused the state government of failing to adequately address law and order challenges and called for stronger measures to ensure public safety, particularly for women.

The remarks add to the ongoing political friction in Maharashtra, with opposition leaders intensifying criticism of the government over governance and security issues in the state capital.
