During an event organised in Navi Mumbai on Friday, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers got into a huge spat and fiercely beat each other up. Amid the chaos, Shiv Sena workers damaged NCP MLA Sandeep Naik’s vehicle outside the venue. 

This happened during an event organised to innaugurate the new building of Airoli Municipal Corporation (AMC) on March 2. In the race to take credit for its construction, the Shiv Sena and NCP workers reached and started using slogans against each other. As things escalated further, the verbal spat turned physical.

Amid the chaos, the security personnel positioned at the venue tried to get control of the situation but failed to do so because of the aggressive workers resented. The agitated Shiv Sainiks damaged a Range Rover car owned by NCP MLA Sandeep Naik. However, the MLA was not present in the car.

As this happened, there is a tense situation in the area. Senior Shiv Sena leaders have blamed the NCP MLA for the chaos. While the NCP protested against the same in Airoli, Kopar Khairane, Digha, Ghansoli.
