Mumbai - The electoral lists are being tampered for the benefit of the BJP and Shiv Sena, alleged Sheetal Mhatre, city president of women’s wing of Congress party. The ruling parties have interfered in the delimitation exercise and got wards restructured for their benefit. Now, the electoral rolls are also being tampered with and hence a voter’s name is on the list but his card is from the other list.
Such things have happened in ward no. 7 and 8 in Borivali ward. The names of voters from these wards are now being included in ward no. 1 of Dahisar area. Sena and BJP have done this in connivance with the administration to get their candidates elected from this ward. There are a few petitions pending in the High Court in this regard which points out mistakes in these voter lists, said Mhatre. She has appealed to the State Election Commission to postpone the election in this ward till corrections are not made in the voter lists.
