Mumbai court issues warrant against MNS chief Raj Thackeray

A Belapur court on Wednesday, January 28, has issued a warrant against MNS president Raj Thackeray in the Vashi Toll Naka vandalism case.

After Raj Thackeray's provocative speech in Vashi on January 6, 2014, MNS workers had vandalised the Vashi toll plaza. In this case, Raj Thackeray has been asked to appear before the court on February 6.

It is alleged that Raj Thackeray's speech on January 6, 2014, in Vashi was provocative. Lawyer Devlal Prasad had on September 27, 2012, filed the case against Raj Thackeray for his alleged inflammatory speech against the people of Bihar. He is also accused of vandalising the Vashi toll plaza by MNS activists after that speech. The case is being heard in Belapur court.

Previously summons and warrants were also issued against Raj Thackeray in 2018 and 2020. However, Raj Thackeray did not appear in court despite being asked to do so several times. Therefore, now the Belapur court has issued a warrant against Raj Thackeray.

Meanwhile, the security of MNS president Raj Thackeray has recently been reduced by the state government. Raj Thackeray's Z level security has been removed and he has been given Y + security. However, the MNS workers had expressed their displeasure over this.
