On Wednesday, April 20, Maharashtra Home Minister, Dilip Walse Patil was quoted in a report by news agency ANI stating that after what transpired in Delhi, the authorities in the state have inputs to spoil the atmosphere in Maharashtra.

Considering this, he said, they have ordered the police to be on alert. Patil added that it is their responsibility to maintain law and order in Maharashtra. However, in the past few days, the work to destroy this peace has commenced.

While referring to Delhi, Patil was mentioning the incident that occurred in Jahangirpuri on Sunday, April 17, wherein communal clashes broke out during a religious procession. Stone pelting and sloganeering happened amongst the group.

On the other hand, the situation in Maharashtra has reportedly been tense, following the demand of MNS Chief Raj Thackeray's remark on the removal of loudspeakers outside mosques. For this, he has given the state government an ultimatum as well.

Similarly, Maharashtra Cyber has sent a proposal to block 22 accounts. Considering the current heated scenario, the authorities are seeking accounts that are propagating communal disharmony content.

Moreover, the Maharashtra Police has reportedly also proclaimed steps they will take to maintain peace and communal harmony. A police statement shared in reports read that those found giving provocative speeches will be arrested and guidelines on the media's reportage of such issues could also come.
