Commuters will now have to pay more fares for State Transport (ST) Corporation travel. NCP Sharad Chandra Pawar's party has started a protest to stop the fare hike of ST. The party has demanded immediate withdrawal of the ST fare hike decision.

The services of ST are a lifeline for the rural and urban masses. Due to the increase in fare, the poor and the middle class are financially burdened. NCP Sharad Chandra Pawar party spokesperson Amol Matele demanded that the government should immediately withdraw this decision and give relief to the people.

If the Transport Minister has not made a decision regarding the fare hike, then who is responsible for it? While the Transport Minister denies responsibility by questioning who controls the account, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar opposes the hike. He expressed confusion over who ultimately makes the decision, pointing out the inconsistency in the government's actions. Pawar questioned why no action has been taken against those who approved the fare increase. He stated that while ministers take credit for good decisions, it is the government’s responsibility to hold officials accountable for wrong ones.

There is a blame game going on between ministers and officials. As a result, the general public is suffering. The government must work for the welfare of the people. But here, Matele said, there is only internal dispute and confusion over decisions.
