RPF inspector Rekha Mishra reunites 900 missing children with their parents

In 2016, Mishra reunited 434 children with their families out of which 45 were girls and 389 were boys and in 2017, she reunited more than 500 missing children with their families.

There are times when children leave their homes to other cities, in pursuit of making some money and stability in life, to make the best out of their life, for a living. However, on a quest to make it work and achieve, many go missing, and most of the cases reported are of children within the age group from 10 to 16. But, in such cases, the Police work hard and help these children reunite with their parents.

One such police officer is Rekha Mishra who has reunited more than 900 children with their parents who went missing in 2016-17. In 2016, Mishra helped reunite 434 children with their families, of which 45 were girls and 389 were boys. In 2017, Mishra reunited more than 500 missing children with their families.

These children leave their homes and come to Mumbai because of their poor financial conditions. Many times these children run away from their home in groups. We found these children at CSTM. These children are mostly of 10-16 age group,” Rekha Mishra, Police Inspector, RPF.

Rekha Mishra was appointed as a police inspector in RPF at CSTM office. Initially, she was handling the women’s security but then she was given the responsibility of child welfare as well. Mishra hails from Uttar Pradesh and she was the only officer in her family.
