Menu Lahoti, President, Central Railways (CR) Women’s Welfare Organisation (CRWWO) inaugurated Meri Pathshala, a school for children of contract labourers and distributed books, pens and pencils to 40 children in Wadi Bunder on July 6. Lahoti interacted with the school children of contract labourers and counselled them to study better for their future.

Niti Singh, Vice President, Tanuja Pankaj, General Secretary, Divya Sharma Treasurer and other members of CRWWO were also present on the occasion.

In June 2022, CR Women’s Welfare Central Organization (RWWCO) also distributed eco-friendly, sanitary napkins free of cost to needy women Contract labourers. This was part of the “Dastak” initiated by the Railway Board to create awareness about Women’s personal hygiene and distribute sanitary napkins free of cost to needy women.

Further, the Mumbai Division of CR has installed 50 Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines at Ladies' Toilets/ Waiting Halls at stations. This is the first such machine installed at CSMT. Napkins can be obtained with an INR 5 coin, said CR officials.

Moreover, Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, CR inspected the Sleeping Pods and Augmented Reality Magic Mirror at CSMT on July 5. Along with the display of a digitized train timetable with a dedicated scrolling screen, railway information, and social awareness messages, this contract will create an engaging experience for commuters and passengers. Similarly, Sleeping Pods is opened to give more comfort and cheaper stay option to the passengers at CSMT, Mumbai.
