BSAM Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Championship: Premanna defeats Farooqui in a first round match

Taaha Khan of Islam Gymkhana and Nikhil Saigal of Khar Gymkhana, both are in good form and enjoyed a good roll of the balls as they easily won their respective Senior men’s snooker second-round qualifying matches of the BSAM organized Maharashtra State Junior Snooker and Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg 1) Championship – 2019, played at the Bombay Gymkhana billiards room on Monday.

The Islam Gym cueist Taaha did not encounter much resistance from NSCI’s Jigish Choksi and raced to 3-0 (62-22, 63-35 and 66-18) victory. Nikhil also potted steadily to overcome Darshan Raval, winning in straight frames at 3-0 (78-36, 71-35 and 86-49) to advance to the third round.

In an interesting and keenly contested first-round match, Siddhesh Mulay of Chiplun fought hard to defeat Samay Wadhawan of NSCI by a 3-2 (59-67, 77-24, 66-34, 39-65 and 69-33) frame scores.

Second round:

Nikhil Saigal (Khar Gym) beat Darshan Raval 3-0 (78-36, 71-35, 86-49)

Taaha Khan (Islam Gym) beat Jigish Choksi (NSCI) 3-0 (62-22, 63-35, 66-18)

Raj Khandwala (CCI) beat Vilas 3-1 (48-64, 60-23, 59-31, 58-23)

Jigar Shah (KVSC) beat Suraj Rathi (Otters) 3-1 (76-47, 44-68, 76-13, 48-41).
