Churchgate- Elphinstone CC lead by Wasim Ansari beat United CC by 94 runs in the first round clash at the Liberal South Mumbai MCA tournament on Sunday.
Batting first Elphinstone CC scored 156/3 in 20 overs riding on a well made 62 by Rishi. The target of 157 was too much for United CC who were all out for 62 in just 14 overs. Wasim Ansari and Abhishek picked up 3 wickets each while Paresh picked up 2 wickets.
This is the first time that the Liberal Cup for South Mumbai clubs is being played in the T 20 format, earlier it used to be a 45 over a side affair.
