Bhoiwada- Suraj Devkule, state and national level wrestler now works as a security guard in a hotel. Though he won many accolades for the state, now he is forgotten. He resides in a small shanty in BDD chawl with his mother and is living life with meager income. Suraj was jobless and after lot of job searching he finally bagged a security guard job but he wants to keep playing. “I am in this game since 2008 and in 2010 and 2011, I bagged medals for state. Initially I was planning for body building but my friend suggested me to pursue powerlifting.

So I came in to power lifting. However, now i am dealing with financial crisis as i cant afford practice nor costume as it costs one lakh. I am thankful to my mother who helped me a lot," said Suraj Devkule. His mother is still pinning hopes that Suraj will get to play again. "I took sewing classes and used my jewelry and helped my son to fulfill his dream. I had gone to Sena Bhavan and asked for help but we did receive any help. I will try my best to keep him playing," said Shalan Devkule, mother.
