Grand Master Viswanathan Anand will be making a special appearance at the chess tournament organised by the Rotary Club of Thane. Held on Tuesday, August 15, the tournament will see 20 chess players compete against each other at the same time.
In association with Rotary Club of Thane Midtown and Upstep Academy, FIDE Rapid Rating Competition for 500 participants has also been organised in a one-day event. The tournament will be held on August 15 at Tiptop Plaza. Whereas a match between Viswanathan Anand and 20 chess players is organised on August 15 at 2:00 pm at Korum Mall.

The Rotary Club of Thane Midtown has informed that the winners of the FIDE Rapid Rating Competition will be honoured with prizes worth around INR 2.5 lakh and 80 badges.
