Maharashtra Boys bag silver in National Swimming Water Polo

A series of missed goals cost the boys, the gold medal which was won by the West Bengal team in the National Swimming Water Polo.

Although Maharashtra boys fought hard for the victory, they were defeated by West Bengal with 4-5, in the National Swimming Water Polo Competition finals and had to be content with the silver medal in the championship. In the Sub-junior and Junior National Swimming Water Polo Competition held at Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra lost the opportunities scoring goals in three sessions, leaving the team with the silver medal. 

Maharashtra Girls won the bronze medal in the Water Polo Competition.

Maharashtra’s Vedika Amin registered a new record in 200m backstroke swimming for U-14 girls. Earlier, the record for 200m backstroke was held by Maharashtra's Kenisha Gupta (2 minutes 51.94 seconds). Vedika Amin bagged the gold medal for her record-breaking, 2 minutes 43.97 seconds.

In the U-14 category for girls, Vedika bagged the silver medal in 1500m freestyle style with the time of 18 minutes 38.42 second whereas Delhi's Bhavya Sachdev won the gold medal. In the U-17 200m freestyle category for boys, Neil Roy did better than his previous performance and managed to just attain the silver medal.
