Mumbai, February 16: Valencia D’Mello’s twin strikes were the highlight of Mumbai District FA’s 5-0 win against Buldhana District FA in a quarter-final match of the Maharashtra State Inter-District Sub-juniors Girls’ football championship 2016-17 and played at the Pharmacy College ground, Dhule on Thursday. The other three goals for Mumbai were scored by Deniese Pereira, Jahnavi Shetty and Anna Fernandes.
Meanwhile, Pune District FA also enjoyed an easy outing as they blanked Jalgaon District FA by a 8-0 margin. Leading Pune’s charge to victory was striker Kranti More who struck a fine hat-trick, while her teammates Radhika Puranik, Shridhi Khokale, Anushka Sahai, Gia Sundaram and Urvi, Salunke, all chipped in with one each to complete the winning tally.
In the other two quarter-final encounters, Nagpur DFA defeated Osmanabad DFA 3-0 and Kolhapur DFA blanked Aurangabad DFA 4-0.

Results (quarter-finals): Mumbai DFA 3 (Valencia D’Mello 2, Deniese Pereira, Jahnavi Shetty, Anna Fernandes) beat Buldhana DFA 0.

Pune DFA 8 (Kranti More 3, Radhika Puranik, Shridhi Khokale, Anushka Sahai, Gia Sundaram, Urvi, Salunke) beat Jalgaon DFA 0.

Nagpur DFA 3 (Lavanya Jhingan, Meenakshi Yadav, Nidhi Verma) beat Osmanabad DFA 0.

Kolhapur DFA 4 (Ramyashree 2, Jyoti Morbale, Bhakti B) beat Aurangabad
