Sellebrity SC was forced to drop two points as they held to a 1-1 draw by a spirited Income Tax in a Super Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association League 2016-2017, and played under lights at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel late on Tuesday evening.
In a fast paced and well-fought encounter, Sellebrity did well to take an early lead through a snap effort from their enterprising midfielder Merwyn Fernandes in the very eighth minute of the game.
However, Sellebrity failed to defend their lead and caved in under pressure from the Taxmen who managed to find the equaliser through Raj Trivedi in the 66th minute.
Earlier, Salcette FC combined well to record a convincing 3-0 win against Miners Colts in Third Division match. Kunal Jadhav struck a brace of goals while Ritvik Salian scored one to seal Salcette’s victory.
Results – Super Div: Sellebrity SC 1 (Merwyn Fernandes 8th) drew with Income Tax 1 (Raj Trivedi 66th).
Div-III: Salcette FC 3 (Kunaal Jadhav 2, Ritvik Salian) beat Miners Colts 0.
