WhatsApp users across the globe have reported major issues with privacy settings. Millions of users on Friday said that they can’t access the last seen and online status on the famous messaging app owned by Facebook.
The WhatsApp has affected users on both Android and IOS platforms. Twitter has been stormed with complaints of WhatsApp not functioning properly. The change in privacy settings has raised concerns among users.
According to media reports, the down detector has detected that 66 per cent of users have reported issues with WhatsApp not functioning properly. Meanwhile, 28 per cent have reported connection issues with no sign to access the last seen, online and typing status on the app. The down detector is an outage monitor portal.
WaBetainfo which tracks the new features in Beta versions of the messaging app too reported issues with the messaging app. Although not official, its social media handle has informed that there was no fix for the ‘last seen’ and ‘online’ status. However, the messaging app is still functional.
The WhatsApp users have also reported trouble in regards to registering new accounts and logging in on the messaging app. WaBetainfo later updated that this issue has been fixed while it was looking to make fixes on other problems on WhatsApp.
