Former lead of popular daily soap, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai, actor Karan Mehra, was arrested by Mumbai Police, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. As per reports, the star known his on-screen role of a dosting husband was accused of beating his wife, Nisha Rawal, also an actress.
As per reports, Karan hit Nisha in the night on Monday, May 31, 2021, after a fight, post which she reported the incident at the Goregaon Police Station. Upon registering a case, the actor was arrested from his residence in Mumbai, and was granted bail on Monday, June 1, 2021.
The police have registered the matter under IPC 336, 337, 332, 504 and 506, which shed light on endangering human life or the personal safety others, causing hurt by an act which endangers human life, voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace and criminal intimidation respectively.

After registering the complaint, Nisha also addressed the media, and during the interaction, she broke down into tears. She stated that Karan had an affiar with an actress and over these years, she has tried to maintain the relationship and his image, since both are actors. Nisha also had a band-aid on her head.
They dated for six years, got married in 2014 and are now parents to a four-year-old boy, Kavish. Shedding more light, Nisha added that a lot had happened over 14 years of their relationship and the step was taken only for her son. Despite informing the affair-related matters to her in-laws, Nisha was asked to resolve the issues. Meanwhile, she said that Karan also accepted of having an affiar with another actress, despite being in relationship with Nisha
Rumours about their relationship were shared earlier, but Karan, in many interviews with the media, called them false. He said that false reports were being spread without their notice and for no specific reason.
