Mumbai’s Coastal Metro Line-11 Gets Nod with INR 23,487 Cr Budget

The Mumbai Metro Line-11 project, extending from Anik Depot–Wadala to the Gateway of India, has received approval along with a financial provision of INR 23,487.51 crore. This corridor is an extension of Mumbai Metro Line-4 (Wadala–Thane–Kasarvadavali), and its Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The construction of this line will be undertaken by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL).

Spanning 17.51 kilometers, approximately 70% of this line will be underground, featuring 13 underground stations and one at-grade station. The infrastructure sub-committee of the state cabinet had already granted preliminary approval to the project.

The state will now request INR 3,137.72 crore in equity support and INR 916.74 crore in interest-free subordinate debt assistance from the Central Government. The cabinet has also approved taking on the responsibility for repaying the loan acquired for the project.
