Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is to beautify the Satrasta in Central Mumbai for the convenience of pedestrians.

According to sources, this is reportedly going to cost the civic body INR 80 lakhs. Moreover, the BMC aims to complete the work by October.

The Satrasta circle is a junction where all seven roads meet. After beautifying the transport islands in Worli, the South Division of the Municipal Corporation has now taken up the beautification of this magnificent junction so that the citizens can find it easier to navigate across the area.

Meanwhile, the BMC is currently carrying out developmental work with regards to rainwater harvesting at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan, West Dadar. Ahead of monsoons, on Thursday, May 27, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray inspected the work. Moreover, Municipal officials including Corporator Visakha Raut were present on the occasion.

In addition, reports state that the construction of 35 underground wells and pipeline work is underway. At the same time, work is underway to convert the outfall point for rainwater near Chaityabhoomi into an urban space.

Furthermore, the stored water will be released into the sea after the tide recedes. This will prevent water retention in the area. Furthermore, such projects can be set up in areas of Mumbai where water is accumulated during torrential rains, asserted Guardian Minister Aaditya Thackeray.
