Seats have already been reserved for physically challenged passengers, senior citizens and women passengers in BEST buses. Pregnant women and infants are allowed to enter the bus through the front door. Moreover, free travel facility is provided to 40 percent and above disabled passengers.
Like disabled passengers, the BEST initiative has decided to provide free travel to autistic persons as well. The discount has been implemented from Monday, December 11. For the past few months, there has been a demand that autistic persons should also be given free travel facility in BEST buses. Accordingly this decision was taken.

In order to avail this service, autistic persons must provide a certificate regarding their status from the concerned medical authorities. With the help of this certificate, this facility will be available through smart card based bus pass or mobile app provided to them from the bus stand of BEST initiative. The validity of this bus pass will be one year.
After one year, the bus pass will be renewed on presentation of a fresh certificate. At present, 18 to 19 thousand disabled passengers are availing the facility of free travel and smart cards have also been provided to them for this purpose.
