As metro construction is underway in many areas in Mumbai, roads have been dug up for the same. At the same time, iron rods have been installed at various places. The same has been done at Kandivali Thakur Complex Mahindra Signal.

Around 12:30 pm, the iron mesh of the pillar fell on the roof of the BEST bus number 711 near Thakur Complex on Western Express Highway. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The bus was ferrying commuters from Dindoshi to Bhayander. While no passengers were injured in the mishap, the bus roof was damaged. 


BEST bus 718 was on its way to Bhayander from Dindoshi when iron mesh fell on the BEST bus roof near Mahindra signal. Commuters were present in the bus but fortunately, no one was injured,” Hanumant Gofane, PRO, BEST.


Currently, work on the Dahisar East-Andheri East Metro-7 corridor is being carried out on Western Express Highway near Kandivali. The 33.5 km partially elevated corridor is expected to be ready by mid-2019.
