The State Transport (ST) Corporation employees are worried once again as their salaries are likely to be delayed due to insufficient funds. As per reports, lack of funds and support from the state government along with a lengthy process of procuring loans from banks has led to the issue where more than one lakh ST workers will not be getting their salaries before Diwali

The situation has repeated again, as the salaries for the months of  August and September were also delayed. As per reports, employees received their salary for July 2020, in the month of October 2020. Payment for the month of August and September are pending and the same will continue for October. It is said that the corporation is also ready to take loans from banks to cover salaries and other expenses, however, the process is not complete and could take some more time, due to which, the employees will have to wait for some more days.

Data reveals that the number of passengers and revenue for MSRTC has not increased despite the services which resumed from  May and June 2020. The pre-lockdown income of INR 22 crore has dropped drastically, and the corporation has only generated a revenue of INR 7 crore, as a result, the financial condition of the corporation has deteriorated further.

Moreover, since the officials have not been able to find a solution regarding the same, the employees have planned to stage a protest in front of their houses on November 9, 2020, this time with their families, as they have also suffered due to the same.
